I'm pleased to say that I will be at BEA on June 2. Please come see me. If you are in New York City taking in the sights, please pop in to the greatest book expo around. Think Comic Con, but books, and me hyperventilating. It's an extraordinary opportunity to even share the same breathing space as some of the authors who will be at this expo. I'm reeling, well as reeling as I can be as I try to keep my Butter Chicken from simmering over on the stove.
I'm also patiently awaiting the results of NYC Midnight's Short Story Challenge. In the first round I pulled a prompt that was a romance that had to include an overachiever and the act of breaking the law. For that one, I wrote "Three Hearts" a tale of two octopuses in love, which took first in the heat. Who knew cephalopods could be so endearing? Round 2 hit me with another romance prompt, this time including a terminal illness and a taxi driver. This time I went with an almost blind pug, and a search for the miracle cupcake to cure him, with some love at first sight on the side. We shall see how it goes...Trying not to think about it, while of course...baking hot fudge cakes and attempting to replicate a dish we've only ever had at Disney World.
It seems no matter what I'm doing, I've always got something on the back burner.
On that note, dears...After BEA, if you can't get there, I'll also be at BooksNJ in Paramus, NJ on June 11.
Great things are cooking, and I don't just mean my dinner!
